Night of the Jack Rises Again for an 8th Season of Spooky Spectacle

Night of the Jack is back! Los Angeles’ favorite spooky season tradition is set to light up King Gillette Ranch in Calabasas for its 8th season. Starting Friday, September 26, and running until Saturday, November 1, the event promises to be bigger, brighter, and more magical than ever.

This isn’t your average pumpkin patch. This is a jaw-dropping, mile-long trail of over 30 immersive scenes packed with intricately carved pumpkins, stunning light installations, and state-of-the-art projection mapping. It’s a full-blown Halloween adventure that’s perfect for the whole family, with all of the thrills and none of the scares.

What’s New for 2025?

This year’s event is all about leveling up. Expect brand-new environments and reimagined favorites, all designed to dazzle your senses.

  • New Worlds and Tech: The trail will feature multi-sensory experiences using cutting-edge projection and pixel technology to transform the landscape into a living, glowing work of art.
  • Family-Friendly Fun: Bring the little monsters for live pumpkin carving, face painting, and a variety of light-up souvenirs.
  • The Spookeasy: The grown-ups can escape to The Spookeasy, where you can sip on themed cocktails, craft beer, and wine, or grab a hot cocoa or cider if you prefer.
  • LA’s Best Food Trucks: Satisfy your cravings with a lineup of delicious food trucks including Cousins Maine Lobster, Vivace Pizza, Baby’s Burgers, and many more.

According to co-founder Ben Biscotti, they’re pushing the boundaries to make this the best year yet. “This event has become so many families’ annual tradition, and we can’t wait to share all the surprises we have in store for this year,” he said.

A Little History, A Lot of Pumpkins

Did you know the very land you’ll be walking on helped give Calabasas its name? Legend has it that back in 1824, a rancher’s wagon of pumpkins spilled, and hundreds of them sprouted along the road, leading to the name Calabasas, which means “the place where the pumpkins fell.”
