Midsummer Scream is officially moving. The world’s largest Halloween and horror convention has announced it will relocate to the Anaheim Convention Center for its 2027 event, scheduled for August 6–8.

Announced during the last panel of this weekend’s event, the move marks a major turning point for the convention, offering expanded floor space to accommodate its rapidly growing community of haunters, vendors, artists, and celebrities.

“It’s bittersweet to leave a venue as amazing as the Long Beach Convention Center, but we look forward to all the new opportunities awaiting us in Anaheim,” said David Markland, executive director and co-founder of Midsummer Scream.

While the main convention is heading to Orange County, Midsummer Scream isn’t abandoning Long Beach entirely. Organizers confirmed that its holiday-themed event, Season’s Screamings, will return to the Long Beach Convention Center on December 5–6, 2027, featuring the fan-favorite Hall of Yuletide Spirits and spooky holiday vendors.

Midsummer Scream’s Record-Breaking Farewell to Long Beach

The move comes on the heels of the convention’s biggest year yet. Midsummer Scream wrapped last weekend’s event by making history, drawing a record-breaking 50,000 attendees and securing its fourth consecutive total sellout at the Long Beach Convention Center.

The packed weekend featured highlights across the entire venue:

• The Hall of Shadows: Spanned nearly two indoor acres, featuring immersive walkthroughs and attractions from Lionsgate Studios, and independent favorites such as Black Casket Productions and Strait to Hale Productions.
• Marquee Panels: Packed rooms for the 30th Anniversary Scream panel hosted by Matthew Lillard (alongside Paramount Scares) and Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights presentation with Creative Director John Murdy.
• Theme Park Teasers: Previews and photo ops from Southern California heavyweights, including Knott’s Scary Farm, Queen Mary’s Dark Harbor, Los Angeles Haunted Hayride, and Six Flags Magic Mountain.
• Massive Show Floor: Over 350 vendors, rare collectibles, original art, and celebrity meet-and-greets buzzing all three days.

Tickets for both Midsummer Scream 2027 in Anaheim and Season’s Screamings 2027 in Long Beach will go on sale in early 2027. Stay tuned for updates!
