Golden State Ghouls Presents: 31 Days of Halloween 2025

Happy Halloween Month – it’s time for Golden State Ghouls’ 31 Days Of Halloween! With so many spooky attractions and events happening in SoCal, we’ve put together a list of some of our top ‘must-see’ haunts, theatre experiences, spooky events, movie releases, and more, giving you something Halloween-y to do every day of the month!

Most of these haunts and activities are open select days throughout the month (some are year-round!), so make sure to visit their sites for additional dates and information. While we’ve included brief descriptions and age suggestions, we also recommend visiting each attraction’s website for age and accessibility restrictions.

Wednesday 10/1: Start Your Shopping at Halloweentown

Burbank, CA – The Halloweentown Store is your year-round haunt for everything creepy, from costumes and home decor to killer collectibles. It’s the ultimate spot for fans of spooky decor and horror movies.

Thursday 10/2: Six Flags Fright Fest

Valencia, CA – Horrors lurk in foggy corners, and haunts await your presence. Brave the night for Fright Fest presented by SNICKERSÂź and encounter spine-tingling chills in ambient Scare Zones, or unwind by watching their scary-good live shows. Plus, true horror fans can unlock new fears with their extraordinary, pay-to-panic Haunted Mazes! And don’t forget, a trip to Six Flags Magic Mountain wouldn’t be complete without a ride or three on Twisted Colossus. It’s even scarier after dark!

Open select nights 9/19-11/2. Recommended for 13+.

Friday 10/3: Urban Death Tour of Terror

North Hollywood, CA – Zombie Joe’s Underground Theatre Group invites you to celebrate 20 years of Urban Death with their ghoulishly-new, fun n’ freaky haunted maze & theatre show – Urban Death: Tour of Terror! Reaching into the darkest corners of the human psyche, experience a heart-pounding dreamscape of inexplicable horrors, unfathomable monstrosities, and the tortured spirits that walk among us to bring you the most terrifying haunted attraction yet!

Fridays & Saturdays, 10/3 – 11/1. $24 advance online purchase/$28 at the door. Ages 18+.

Saturday 10/4: Haunted Carwash

Anaheim, CA – Dare to enter the Haunted Carwash, a nightmarish journey that turns an ordinary car wash into a realm of terror. As you slowly drive through, sinister performers will leap from the shadows, and spine-tingling special effects will envelop you in an atmosphere of sheer horror. With bone-chilling surprises lurking around every corner, this is a Halloween experience designed to keep you on edge. Gather your bravest friends and family, and prepare for a frightful ride you won’t soon forget. Check out their other locations too!

Sunday 10/5: Los Angeles Haunted Hayride

Griffith Park, CA – The Los Angeles Haunted Hayride is back to haunt Griffith Park. This year, the Mistress of the Dark, Elvira, is getting in on the terrifying action with her very own pop-up shop and ‘Elvira’s Trick or Treat Mayhem’ haunted maze. Featuring 3 mazes, nightly performances by Monte Revolta, the legendary Hayride, themed food, and more, this is an ultimate Halloween bash you won’t want to miss!

Open select nights 9/19 – 11/2. Recommended for ages 12+.

Monday 10/6: Roger’s Gardens ‘Midnight Market’ 

Corona Del Mar, CA – Immerse yourself in the magical world of Roger’s Gardens’ Halloween Boutique, a Southern California hotspot for all your seasonal shopping desires! Discover their bewitching selection of finely curated Halloween dĂ©cor and exclusive artisan pieces that promise to add a touch of enchantment to your celebrations.

Tuesday 10/7: Visit Horror Vibes Coffee

North Hollywood, CA – Horror Vibes Coffee started as a neighborhood spot and evolved into a haven where horror lovers and coffee enthusiasts unite to celebrate the eerie and unusual. If you’re visiting Las Vegas anytime soon, they just opened a location there as well!

Wednesday 10/8: Delusion: Harrowing of Hell

Los Angeles, CA – Like previous Delusion productions, Harrowing Of Hell furthers their novel “moving play” concept. Guests move through a storied venue as they play their part in a haunting, live narrative that unfolds around them. This year follows a supernatural cult, Pagan’s Path, that has taken the metaphors of Dante’s Inferno far too literally, seducing followers through the circles of hell as a necessary preparation for the afterlife.

Ages 12+.

Thursday 10/9: Hide & Seek at Escape Hotel Hollywood

Hollywood, CA – Hide & Seek is the most intense full-contact horror survival game, where all the rooms open up at Escape Hotel for one night and the entire hotel (over 12,000 sqft) becomes your playground. You will have to discover the hotel room by room, and find your way by navigating through the map you are given.

Ages 18+ with waiver required.

Friday 10/10: Drowned Out Productions presents People In the Dark

Downtown Los Angeles, CA – A thrilling encounter with Hollywood’s forgotten past! Join the Lost Legends Ghost Tours as they uncover the forgotten stories of LA’s Gilded Age. However, one of the stops takes the group off course as the horrors of Hollywood haunt our group face-to-face. Rooted in premier elements of immersive theater and haunted houses, People In the Dark is a ghost story like no other!

Saturday 10/11: The Haunting of Stone Oak Manor

Oak Glen, CA – Step into the mysterious Stone Oak Manor, but be warned, something grave has fallen upon this grand old house. As you traverse the corridors, you are sure to sense an aura of foreboding. Flickering candlelight will guide your way through the cob web covered manor, and with each step upon the creaking old floorboards, something grisly is sure to follow. Enjoy outdoor horror movies on the lawn, themed bars & cocktails, haunted photo ops, pumpkin patch, and spooky vendors.

Sunday 10/12: Reign of Terror Haunted House

Thousand Oaks, CA – The award-winning Reign of Terror Haunted House features 12 interconnected attractions, 142+ separate rooms to walk through, and hordes of frightful characters waiting to give you a thrill. All included with one ticket!

Open select nights 9/26 – 11/2. Recommended for ages 13+.

Monday 10/13: Warhol / Frankenstein 4D

North Hollywood, CA – The infamously gory and outrageously raunchy Grand Guignol Pop Art Horror Show Live on Stage! Warhol / Frankenstein 4D returns October 12-27 for the 2025 Haunt Season at Zombie Joe’s legendary Underground Theatre, with the original cast intact, at least until the dismembering begins again.

Ages 18+ only.

Tuesday 10:14: Night of the Jack

Calabasas, CA – This isn’t your average pumpkin patch
 Night of the Jack is a jaw-dropping Halloween spectacle with its massive 1 mile long immersive trail featuring larger-than-life jack-o’-lantern installations, dazzling light technology, interactive displays, delectable food from LA’s top food trucks and themed cocktails and specialty drinks in the Spookeasy. Whether you’re looking for a night of family fun or a hauntingly good night out, this is the Halloween event you won’t want to miss!

Wednesday 10/15: Poe-Etique

Los Angeles, CA – Step beyond the veil and into Raven’s Manor, an elite sanctuary sealed off from the plague-ravaged world beyond. But what begins as a promise of salvation quickly spirals into a fever dream of ritual, deception, and madness. Thursday 10/16: Queen Mary’s Dark Harbor

Long Beach, CA – Dark Harbor is Southern California’s most haunted Halloween event! Each fall, the notoriously haunted Queen Mary transforms the ship and surrounding harbor into a massive Halloween festival featuring haunted mazes, hundreds of monsters, immersive attractions, live entertainment, VIP experiences, themed bars and lounges, carnival rides, festive eats and treats, and more!

Recommended for ages 13+.

Friday 10/17: Catch Black Phone 2 in Theaters

Four-time Academy Award nominee Ethan Hawke returns to the most sinister role of his career in Black Phone 2. The Grabber seeks vengeance on Finn (Mason Thames) from beyond the grave by menacing Finn’s younger sister, Gwen (Madeleine McGraw).

Saturday 10/18: Knotts Scary Farm

Buena Park, CA – Knott’s Scary Farm is the longest-running and most haunting Halloween theme park event in Southern California. With over 50 years of nightmares, unimaginable scares and innovative thrills, Knott’s Scary Farm has left no tomb unearthed, no crypt un-rattled and no fear untouched. Experience the fully transformed theme park, with uniquely haunted mazes and attractions, sinister shows, and more than 1,000 horrifying creatures lurking in the fog and hiding across every inch of the park.

Sunday 10/19: NOIR! An Immersive Hollywood Thriller

Monday 10/20: Get Snacks at the Horror Boodega

Burbank, CA – The Horror Boodega is a nostalgic haven where horror and childhood dreams collide. This quirky shop offers a curated selection of spooky snacks and collectibles. More than a store, it’s a celebration of creativity and community that welcomes horror fans, collectors, and families alike.

Tuesday 10/21: Magic of the Jack O’ Lanterns

Palos Verdes, CA – This fall, Magic of the Jack O’ Lanterns returns to Southern California — now at the stunning South Coast Botanic Garden in Palos Verdes. Now set within the lush, winding trails of one of SoCal’s most beautiful botanic gardens and featuring over 10,000 carved jack o’ lanterns, this year’s show feels more immersive, more atmospheric, and more magical than ever. With a mile-long walking trail, the experience is longer and more expansive, offering radiant light displays, whimsical scenes, and glowing pathways that come to life under the night sky.

Wednesday 10/22: Carved at Descanso Gardens

La Cañada Flintridge, CA – Discover a mesmerizing pumpkin wonderland featuring a new route, and even more pumpkin fun! Descanso Railroad will be specially lit for Carved, and new ghosts will join the family of wood spirits carved from five enormous logs by Chainsaw Jenna. You’ll be amazed by luminous jack-o’-lanterns, hand-carved giant pumpkins and the “Rhizome” installation by Tom and Lien Dekyvere.

Thursday 10/23: The Obscure Distillery & Cocktail Experience

Los Angeles, CA – The Obscure is a hidden sanctuary that invites you to step inside and lose yourself in a realm of magic and mystery. Embark on a multi-sensory journey of expertly crafted spirits and cocktails, where every sip reveals a story steeped in legend and lore.

21+ only with valid ID.

Friday 10/24: The VHS Society: Halloween Slumber Party

Burbank, CA – Get ready for the second annual Halloween Slumber Party, featuring a special screening of the 1999 gothic horror film Sleepy Hollow starring Johnny Depp and Christina Ricci. Held at Vulture Culture Oddities, this month’s VHS Society gathering will include horror shorts, a Halloween market, and drinks. This is a 21+ event with limited capacity, so get your tickets early to avoid losing your head.

Saturday 10/25: The Nightmare Before Christmas Live

Hollywood, CA – Disney Tim Burton‘s The Nightmare Before Christmas in Concert featuring Danny Elfman singing as Jack, Janelle Monae singing as Sally, Keith David singing as Oogie Boogie, Riki Lindhome singing as Shock, and John Stamos singing as Lock, with incredible eye-popping projections that bring Halloween Town to life. The holiday classic celebrates 10 years since its first show at the Hollywood Bowl!

Sunday 10/26: Castle Dark

Riverside, CA – Castle Dark, where the night crawls with spine-tingling terror and chilling delights! Immerse yourself in an eerie atmosphere, where lurking horrors and unexpected scares await around every corner. All-New! Three Mazes and the return of the “Haunted Highway” Antique Car Ride overlay. Plus, enjoy an all-new show, “Echoes From the Grave”, three Scare Zones, and spooky treats.

Monday 10/27: The Haunted Harvest

Chino, CA – The Haunted Harvest is the largest independent haunted attraction in Southern California. Every Halloween we feature 6 haunted houses throughout their sprawling 2-acre corn maze, which you must navigate in the dark. With monsters at every turn, this event is sure to be an unforgettably terrifying experience for even the most seasoned pros!

Recommended for ages 13+.

Tuesday 10/28: The 17th Door

Buena Park, CA – Get extreme with 17th Door. At Perpetuum Penitentiary, the most horrendous prison in the world, vile engineers use dark technology to relish in treating humanity’s evils. You must face a series of terrifying ordeals to escape, including the prison barber, a butcher in the meat locker, and the warden, who holds your fate in his hands.

Must sign a waiver. Ages 16+ only.

Wednesday 10/29: Slasher World

Los Angeles, CA – Slasher World is a horror-themed immersive retail space located off Melrose and the new permanent home of Slashback Video, featuring movie-themed sets, merchandise, and tons of photo opportunities!

Thursday 10/30: Haunted Soiree: Vampire

Glendale, CA – Haunted Soiree: VAMPIRE is an immersive Halloween experience and vampire-themed cocktail party in Los Angeles designed exclusively for adults who crave a thrill of elegance entwined with the macabre. This is not your typical haunted house, Halloween party or themed pop-up bar; it’s an adults-only Halloween playground where you are free to roam through lavish rooms, each pulsing with live music, dazzling costumes and illusions, seductive dance, and show-stopping performances.

Friday 10/31: Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood

Universal City, CA – From watching the horror to living it. Universal Studios Hollywood Halloween Horror Nights is one of Southern California’s top Halloween events. Brave haunted houses from licenses like Terrifier, Five Nights at Freddy’s and Jason Universe, the Blumhouse takeover of Terror Tram, exciting scare zones, and much more.
