Thirteenth Floor Entertainment Group pulled back the curtain on their West Coast spooky season takeover during their main stage presentation at Midsummer Scream 2026. From major logisitical upgrades in Griffith Park to “adults only” interactive theater, here is everything revealed for their 2026 lineup.

Delusion: Den of the Mosquito for Adults Only

Let’s start with the announcement that drew a big cheer from long-time fans: the beloved interactive theater experience Delusion is taking it back to their roots with a longer and more interactive story true to John Braver’s original concepts. They’re also taking up residence at the Beckett Mansion (previous home of JFI’s The Willows) for the 2026 season. It’s a beautiful location that we can’t wait to see their spin on.

Titled Den of the Mosquito, the story plunges guests into a 1920s New Orleans vampire brothel. Braver cited heavy inspiration from the classic noir-horror video game Nocturne, weaving together themes of 1920s mafia corruption, prohibition-era vice, and bloodsuckers.

Because of the mature narrative themes and intense interactive mechanics, Den of the Mosquito will be strictly 18+ only.

Los Angeles Haunted Hayride: Alcohol & Rock ‘N Roll

Alcohol sales have officially been approved for the LA Haunted Hayride. Due to Griffith Park’s city regulations, sipping a drink while wandering through Midnight Falls was previously off-limits, but that changes this year.

Beyond the bar menu, the Hayride is introducing a brand-new maze titled Fallen Angel. The story centers around a fictional 1980s rock band that perished during a performance. Decades later, audio recordings of that tragic show are being replayed in Midnight Falls, accidentally summoning the band’s restless souls back to wreak havoc on guests.

Returning staples include our favorite undead frontman Monte Revolta’s nightly stage shows, returning mazes, and Elvira-themed activations.

Festival Fright Nights: Event Goes Open-World

Up in San Jose, Festival Fright Nights at Winchester Mystery House event is completely shaking up its format. Instead of a traditional linear walkthrough layout, the event is is shifting to an open-festival format, letting guests choose their own path through the mazes and attractions.

Set in 1926, exactly four years after Sarah Winchester’s death, the narrative behind this year’s event sees a mysterious, dormant energy awaken on the estate grounds. The lore across each maze and activation is interconnected, rewarding sharp-eyed hauntgoers who piece together the puzzle as they explore.

Magic of the Jack O’ Lanterns: LVCRFT Tracks & A Massive Bounce Pad

For those looking for something a bit less intense (or taking younger Halloween fans along), Magic of the Jack O’ Lanterns returns to the South Coast Botanical Gardens.

This year’s event features custom soundtracking from horror-pop collective LVCRFT, as well as an expanded kids zone headlined by a 50-foot jack-o’-lantern-shaped bounce pad. Don’t quote me on this, but I imagine it to be the same one from Shaqtoberfest, which was much harder to navigate as a late-30-something than a kiddo (there are photos, but I’m not sharing).
